"Scholary" Spencer contemplates the doom of Man

Research Interests
I am interested in mathematical physics. This means that I work on problems that come from theoretical physics, but technically I am a mathematician :). Right now I am interested in topological quantum field theories (e.g Chern-Simons), modular tensor categories (e.g. quantum groups), the fractional quantum Hall effect, and topological quantum computing.

My advisor was Prof. Dan Freed in the Geometry Group at the University of Texas at Austin.
